Massage Therapy

Whether for physical rehabilitation, relaxation, or mental health, regular massages can be a powerful addition to a well-rounded self-care routine.

Meet Heather

Heather Tides is a licensed and certified medical massage therapist and structural integration practitioner. Her modalities include myofascial release, craniosacral and energy work, prenatal and postpartum massage, and trauma healing. She continues to study, learn, and take courses in these fields. Her work is trauma-informed and centered from a deep listening. She finds that following the lead of the body's inner wisdom allows for deeper, longer-lasting relief, recovery, and harmony within the physical body.

Heather received her Medical Massage & Structural Integration Certification through the University of New Mexico's Holistic Healing branch in Taos. She received her massage therapy license after completing the national MBLEX exam in 2017. She holds certifications in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy, Breathwork Facilitation, and Community Herbalism.

Energy work is woven into each massage and is intuitively guided. Heather's highest hope for each session and client that she has the honor of working with is to hold space for them to come home to themselves in their body, in a safe and authentic way.

Benefits of Massage Therapy

Pain Relief

Massage can help reduce muscle tension, soreness, and chronic pain, particularly in the back, neck, and shoulders.

Improved Circulation

By enhancing blood flow, massage promotes oxygen and nutrient delivery to tissues, which aids in muscle recovery and overall wellness.

Flexibility and Range of Motion

Regular massages can improve flexibility by loosening tight muscles and increasing range of motion.

Enhanced Recovery

Athletes and active individuals benefit from faster recovery and reduced muscle stiffness after intense physical activity.

Boosted Immunity & Energy Levels

Some studies suggest that massage can enhance the body’s immune response by reducing cortisol levels and increasing lymphocyte activity. Many people experience an increase in energy after a massage due to improved circulation and tension release.

Stress & Anxiety Reduction

One of the most well-known benefits of massage is its ability to reduce stress by lowering cortisol levels, which helps improve overall mood. Massage stimulates the production of serotonin and dopamine, which are neurotransmitters that help reduce anxiety and combat depression.

Better Sleep

Massage can promote relaxation, often leading to better sleep quality and reduced insomnia symptoms.

Improved Focus and Mental Clarity

The relaxation effects of massage can lead to better focus, concentration, and mental clarity.

Detoxification

Massage can aid the lymphatic system in removing toxins from the body, contributing to overall wellness.

Relaxation

It’s an excellent way to take a break from the daily grind, reset mentally, and nurture the body.
